About WhereIsShe

WhereIsShe is a free daily geography game in the spirit of GeoGuessr. Each day you get five photos or short videos of one person somewhere in the world, and you guess where each one was taken by dropping a pin on a world map. The closer your pin, the more points you score, up to 25,000 for a perfect day. Everyone in the world gets the same puzzle on the same day, so you can compare scores with friends.

The people in the game opted in

Every person featured in WhereIsShe chose to be in it. They contacted us or submitted their own photos through Feature me, confirmed that they are the person shown, that they are 18 or older and that they agree to the photos being used in the game. Each featured person sees and approves their day before it goes live, and can have their photos and profile link removed at any time, for any reason. We never use photos of people who haven't agreed to be featured.

Who the day's person is stays a surprise until the end: after the last round you meet them, with a link to the profile they chose to share.

Pins show where a photo was taken, never where anyone lives

The answer for each round is the place where that photo or video was taken: a beach, a city square, a mountain viewpoint. We never pin a home address or anywhere near one, and we don't accept photos taken at or near someone's home. The game is about recognising places in the world, not about finding people, and using it to try to locate someone is against our terms.

Who runs it

WhereIsShe is a small independent project made and run by one developer. It isn't affiliated with GeoGuessr, Instagram or Google. The game is free to play. Optional ads and an optional Premium subscription (no ads and priority review of your Feature me submission) help pay for hosting and keep the game running.
